At 65th International Exhibition for Commercial Vehicles, IAA that will take place in Hannover from September 25 to October 2, Kässbohrer is expanding its presence.

KÄSSBOHRER TO PRESENT THE POWER OF ENGINEERING 

Kässbohrer is stepping forward in trailer engineering and customer service to make a difference for its global customers. 

At 65th International Exhibition for Commercial Vehicles, IAA that will take place in Hannover from September 25 to October 2, Kässbohrer is expanding its presence. Not only Kässbohrer has taken its traditional place in Hall 27, Stand E011, but also Kässbohrer will present its new Steer by Brake technology at the Innovationstage and will be exhibiting its hydraulic steering technology in open area, K38.

In Hall 27, Stand E011, Kässbohrer will exhibit, intermodal Mega Curtainsider (K.SCS M), 2 axle extendable hydraulic steering low-loader (K.SLL 2), tipping silo with 60 m3 volume (K.SSK 60), and chemical tanker with 30 m3 volume. 

In addition to fair vehicles, Kässbohrer will also exhibit in the stand, its newly engineered Rear Underrun Protection Device with Absorption Box (RUPD-AB) to maximize the safety of the driver and passengers in the tailing vehicle and also another innovation from its R&D Center, the Digital Trailer Control (DTC) which features a centralized systematic control of different functions such as park brake, landing gear, the folding bumper and the roof lifting for curtainsider.

NEW TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED BY KÄSSBOHRER 

Digital Trailer Control 

Kässbohrer engineered the Digital Trailer Control (DTC) unit to maximize the safety of drivers and operators. Whereas drivers and operators have to use different equipment on a trailer such as park brake, landing gear, the folding bumper and the roof lifting for curtainsider, DTC enables centralized systematic control of these functions from a safe distance and clear sight. DTC also enables drivers to monitor loads on the trailer and load distributions between king pin and axles. 

Steer by Brake 

Trailers with more than three axles for the transportation of heavy and abnormal goods are equipped with self-steering axles, to fulfil the turning radius requirements as defined in ECE-Regulation 79 and legislations according to the country of registration. Kässbohrer and Knorr Bremse have developed Steer By Brake (SBB) System to reduce the operational complexity for efficiency and safety by eliminating the need for self-steering axles. 

The Steer By Brake (SBB) eliminates the complex self-steering operation while fulfilling the turning radius requirements without self-steering axles. Furthermore since SBB is built on the existing TEBS architecture, it will reduce the total cost of ownership, in terms of initial investment, tyre wear and maintenance.

Rear Underrun Protection Device with Absorption Box

Kässbohrer engineered the Rear Underrun Protection Device with Absorption Box (RUPD-AB) to maximize the safety of the driver and passengers in tailing vehicles. Current RUPDs on most of trailers, which are designed and tested per ECE regulations, can only prevent the tailing vehicle to underrun the trailer. These RUPDs cannot absorb the force, which is emitted during an accident and directly transferred to driver and passengers in rear vehicle. Kässbohrer’s newly developed RUPD-AB, on the other hand, absorbs the force generated by the crash. Consequently, force transferred to driver and passengers in the crashed vehicle are reduced in order to avoid fatal injuries and death.
