Kässbohrer Returns Home: Grand Opening of The Ulm Plant

Fastest growing manufacturer of semi-trailers in Europe, Kässbohrer together with its business partners, celebrates the opening of the new plant on July 5th, 2017, at its new location in Achstetten, Ulm where Kässbohrer was found 123 years ago. Kässbohrer returns home.

At the grand opening of Kässbohrer, associations, business partners and customers from 13 different countries will meet each other. Kässbohrer proudly hosts the VSL-Baden-Württemberg e.V. (The German Association for Transport and Logistics – Baden-Württemberg - Verband Spedition und Logistik – Baden-Württemberg). The attendance of more than 300 participants worldwide includes numerous suppliers like BPW, WABCO and DEKRA.

The program begins with the welcoming speech of the hosts of Kässbohrer, with the moderation of Ms. Iffet Türken Board Member of Kässbohrer, followed by Karlhubert Dischinger the President of VSL- BW and subsequently with the speech of Karin Schütz the State Secretary and Martin Bendel the Mayor of Ulm along with Paul Bailer Mayor of Achstetten.



The program includes the logistic based dialogues on long trailers in Germany, autonomous driving and digitalization with Prof. Dr. Tobias Bernecker of HS Heilbronn and an open discussion is carried out by the leadership of Mr. Marongiu, Executive Director of VSL-BW.
After the panel discussion the opening ceremony of the Ulm plant will take place.

While the program continues in Kässbohrer’s traditional Summerfest style lunch and activities, the guests will have the opportunity to tour the new production facility where Kässbohrer will provide sales and full after-sales services at the heart of Germany, covering one of the core transport corridors of Rhine-Danube, Rhine-Alpine and Scandinavien-Mediterrean networks.

At the grand opening, the new Kässbohrer K.SKS tipper for the European market will be unveiled and for the first time the guests will have the opportunity to examine the vehicle. The vehicle exhibition will include a selection of new vehicles from Kässbohrer product group.
A lottery is organized where the benefits are donated to the “Aktion 100.000 und Ulmer Helft”, a fundraising campaign of the SÜDWEST PRESSE in Ulm and helps people who are in need.

The Association Verband Spedition und Logistik Baden-Württemberg e.V., VSL-BW is the leading trade association of all companies active in freight forwarding and logistics in Baden-Württemberg.

Kässbohrer, a resident of Goch, in Kleve district of North Rhine Westphalia has been a member of VSL-NRW since 2013. Now with its second location in Ulm, state of Baden –Württemberg Kässbohrer became a member of VSL-BW in 2017.

Kässbohrer prioritizes local cooperations and the development of the regions where it establishes its plants. The cooperation with VSL-BW aims to facilitate the development of the transport and logistics industry in the region which is one of the most important logistics hubs of the world housing significant logistic centers and prominent road haulage businesses.

Kässbohrer and VSL-BW's close coopreation began at Transport Logistics Fair this year in May, Munih where Kässbohrer announced its support for VSL’s “Logistics for Europe” initiative. Furthering the cooperation, Kässbohrer and VSL are hosting logistics dialogues at the Ulm grand opening. Kässbohrer is very proud to celebrate VSL 70th birthday at the opening as well.
